Waking up on Christmas Day always feels good. It is that time when you would either open your presents, or get to play around with them. It is also that time when you won’t need to wake up early, and get as much sleep as you want. But the way I experienced Christmas this year was different compared to the past years.
You know how it is in movies, specifically Christmas movies, when all you would see is clean white snow around, and with snow falling from the skies. It always looked nice in movies. For the past years (at least with my stay here), it snowed either before or after Christmas. It never snowed on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. The snow on the roads end up dirty, with all the vehicles and people passing.
Going to the point, waking up on Christmas Day, I took a look outside. And YES, it was SNOWING!! It wasn’t that strong compared to the other days that snowed, but it still looked nice. Finally, a White Christmas. Looking outside, I wanted to go out and take photos. My sister then asked me if I wanted to go out with the rest of the siblings and go to the park, to at least see how it is outside.
That afternoon, at least it wasn’t that cold so it wasn’t that hard to stay outside for long. Just outside our house there are a lot of stuff that I wanted to take photos of already, from our car covered with snow, to the trees and all the frozen ice from the storm. On the left is a tree covered with snow, one of the nice photos I was able to take outside on our way to the park, and I wanted to do a DOF shot.
Here are some of the photos with my siblings:
I never noticed it, until my brother pointed out the snow that was falling. We were all covered in snow, but I never noticed that it was still somehow in its shape. It looked really nice. They were really small and you could see the shape of them. This reminded me of an article (click here to view) that I saw just a week ago, which showed close-up shots of snowflakes. I wanted to try taking similar photos, we tried taking photos to perfectly see the shape but it was just not possible at that time. This is a photo of myself taken by my brother.
Here are the other photos I was able to take just before we reached the park:
As you can see in the photo directly above, some of the tree branches on the left already broke. Those happened just the past week during the ice storm. On the way to the park there were more tree branches that also broke and were just there. As pretty and nice as the ice storm looks, I would still prefer having a snow storm.
Once we made it to the park, it look really nice as everything was white. You won’t notice the footsteps of other people, there were still some frozen ice stuff sticking in the playground which looked really nice, and snow was just continuously falling. The dangerous thing about our walk there though, there was still ice covered by the snow. Some of the parts were really slippery.
With how everything looked like at that time, I wanted to be as creative as I can be. Following are some of the photos I was able to take in the park:
I was also able to take this really nice panoramic photo of the place.
And of course, I needed and wanted a photo of myself before leaving the place.
We were at the park for just a while, as the day started to end. On our way back, I decided to take a couple more photos, and of course with all the lights already turned on, I wanted to shoot some Bokeh shots.
There are more photos I wanted to show, but I only chose the best ones (that I think) to add here. The other photos I will be adding to my Facebook page. So stay tuned for that.
How did your Christmas go?
